
UN Security Council announced its utmost concern over Houthis legal statement dissolving Yemeni parliament. Following a closed door session, Security Council issued a statement calling on Chinese UN representative to ask both sides on Yemen’s crisis to adhere to the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, initiative and the outcome of the agreement reached by the national reconciliation government representing a democratic procedure for the people of Yemen.
The Chinese representative to the UN said the Council members are deeply concerned over Houthis’ terminating the talks, dissolving the parliament and taking control of most government agencies. The council members also call on all sides, especially the Houthis to heed the GCC initiative and the National Reconciliation Agreement for a democratic and pluralistic Yemen.
