Iraqi MP Matshar Al-Sameraii from the Iraqiya Coalition emphasized Liberty residents are guests of the Iraqi people and political refugees, adding they should be treated based on humane and refugee rights standards, the Iraqi NINA news agency reported.
“We remind politicians in the current government they were refugees in various countries before obtaining power and they must not forget respect for the rights of refugees,” he said.
“Thus must know any inhumane measures against Liberty residents will have negative impacts on Iraq’s credibility,” this Iraqi MP continued.
