
Iraqi News Agency, Iraq, September 30, 2008 – Sarmad Abdul Karim, General Director of the Iraqi News Agency, and Ali Kelidar, the office manager of the Agency in Cairo, met with Mr. Ahmad Yousef, the director of Arab Culture, science and Literature in Cairo and the director of Arabic Research Institute- affiliated to the Arab League.
Mr. Sarmad Abdul Karim explained to Dr. Yousef the latest developments in Iraq and the extent of Iran’s meddling in Iraqi affairs and also the latest developments about the situation of the PMOI in Ashraf City and the remarks made by Ali Dabbagh, the Iraqi government spokesman, in this regard. He also explained the threats that such comments impose on the lives of 3500 Iranian citizens who are the guests of their Iraqi brothers. He added that all these are nothing but the conspiracies fabricated by the mullahs’ regime of Tehran that are pursued by their agents who have been trained by them and at the moment form the main part of the security and military bodies of the Iraqi government.
Dr. Ahamad Yousef shared the same views and analysis with Mr. Sarmad Abdul Karim and Ali Kelidar regarding these issues and expressed his strong sympathy with the PMOI in Ashraf City and also his willingness and support of their right for having security and protection and said: “Any other approach other than this would breach international human rights covenants and the Fourth Geneva Convention, and immediate measures must be taken to prevent any catastrophe.”
