On Oct. 9, Al-Sharqia T.V. reported that the National Al-Iraqia faction spokesman, Izzat Shabandar said: Iranian regime is after political and physical assassination of former Iraqi Premier Dr. Ayad Allawi because he is against Iranian intervention in Iraq.

Mr. Shabandar said: “we are well aware of Iranian regime’s plans for political and physical elimination of Dr. Allawi; if they do not succeed to eliminate him politically, they will assassinate him physically.”

He added: “the genuine resisting party before sectarian project of Iranian regime for dividing and splitting Iraq is Dr. Allawi; the Iranian regime has a very clear religious and sectarian plan for dividing Iraq, and this plan is being carried out by its agents in Iraq from north to the south which is no secret to anybody. ”
