Following Mr. Ali Moezzi’s return to Karaj prison one week after his discharge from hospital, he is now transferred to the solitary in Ward 209 Evin prison. The intelligence ministry has cut off all his contacts and phone communication with his family to put more pressure on this tormented political prisoner. His family’s efforts to find out about his health have been left unanswered.
His family was told at first that he is in the notorious Evin prison, but later told them that he was transferred again to Karaj prison. Later it was known that they were lying and is actual whereabouts in kept secret and all his communications with outside world in cut off.
Based on his deteriorating health condition and his multiple illnesses it is believed that the authorities are trying to torment and torture this 60+ years old political prisoner to death. Mr. Moezzi is accused of contacting his family in Camp Ashraf of the PMOI/MEK.
Mr. Moezzi was also punished earlier for defending another political Prisoner who was being tortured during an interrogation. He was put in the solitary for 2 weeks without being given any clothes to wear. This triggered a protest from other political prisoners condemning this inhumane behavior.
