–  US Secretary of State John Kerry described the Syrian presidential elections planned for June as an “insult” and a “farce” on Thursday, AFP reported on May 15th.
Speaking after a meeting of Western and Arab countries in the Friends of Syria group, Kerry said: “Together we are agreed in saying that Assad’s staged elections are a farce, they are an insult and they are a fraud.”
