Al-Sharqiya TV News, 17 Oct 2012 – Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Deputy Secretary General BarhamSalih said the Kurds have no fear of Iraqi Army being armed, yet they are worried about the mentality that seeks to use these arms instead of fighting against corruption and providing services to the people. There is a violent atmosphere against the Kurds in Baghdad, he stressed.
In his meeting with Iraqi reporters in Sulaimaniya, it will never be acceptable for a new dictatorship to gain power in Iraq, adding that the Kurdish nation remaining under the framework of the country of Iraq is based on Iraq’s federal-based constitution.
The problem is not in Kurdistan, it is in Baghdad, Salih stressed, and there is a complex of political, security and economic issues that are piled up and are affecting the country of Iraq.
