Safi Yasseri, Iraqi author and journalist, in an article entitled ” shutting mouths with Iranian regime’s method” condemned Iran’s efforts to dominate Iraqi media and asked for closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Baghdad, as a diplomatic cover for its intelligence and terrorist activities.
He wrote: The Iranian regime, by threatening Iraqi independent and impartial journalists, has violated Iraqi sovereignty, and contravenes other Iraq’s laws that are based on freedom of expression and thought and spread of democracy. I strongly reject obeisance to what the Iranian regime and its local representatives dictate to the Iraqi media; threatening journalists in Iraq is a terrorist measure that calumniates the freedom-loving Iraqi authors to compel them to flattery, whereas they are known for their dignity and honor and free will.
