Russia Today (Arabic), 7 Oct 2012 – These days Tehran is witnessing events similar to the nationwide revolution against Shah’s regime in 1978, which led to his toppling on February 11th, 1979. It is as if history is repeating itself and once again it is eyeing the fall of an autocratic regime.
When various media outlets wire reports of unrest in Tehran’s Bazaar, in many cases reaching scuffles between merchants and the police, the Bazaar – which had a major role in overthrowing Shah’s rule – has become the headlines of news these days. Although the police gained control over the situation, one cannot rely on this silence that is similar to placing a lid over a volcano with cement pieces hoping to silent the uprising. Therefore, many viewers believe the situation in Iran is heading towards a one-way street with no possible turning back.
The pitying yet ridiculous positions taken by this religious regime’s officials in Tehran, and especially Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, are fruitless remarks and cannot bring about anything positive for this regime that is decaying from within. If the people are enlightened adequately regarding the lies and deceits in these remarks – which have no other objective but serving the regime’s security and interests – it might even actually bear counter results. From the suspicious climbing up the ladder of power by the mullahs after Iran’s revolution and the Iranian people’s sacrifices, they began striking at all dissident parties and political movements and eradicating them with various methods, mostly repulsive and insidious, to make their path safer.
From the very beginning the PMOI topped the mullahs’ list because they strongly rejected their suspicious plans and revealed them to the people. When the mullahs’ succeeded in guiding the US government to designating the PMOI in the terrorist list in 1997, they obtained the entire struggle in their interest and there was no opponent left for them.
However, the persistent struggle of this organization helped disclose this regime and reveal its true nature. The amazing political victories that this organization gained, with its unprecedented leadership, had very positive impacts on the Iranian people, just as it has had very negative results on the ruling regime.
However, for anyone who follows the situation up close, they come to learn the new economic downfall that has engulfed Iran and headed this regime towards a hard and sophisticated intersection, took place directly after a very short period following the removal of the PMOI from the US terrorist list, in a matter that removing this organization took place on September 28th, while conditions became tumultuous on October 1st and 2nd. This clearly implicates the impact of the PMOI’s presence in various fields and provides this opportunity for it to break and set aside all the previous barriers, chains and obstacles placed in its path.
The PMOI, having played a very significant role in overthrowing the former Shah regime, is very likely to repeat that scenario because this regime is the same in detail. However, its shape is different, and the continuation of these events are reasons to believe that practically, the preparations of a huge revolution in Iran has begun and the sounds of revolution knocking on Tehran’s doors can be heard very vividly.
