
Political prisoner Reza Shahabi, a member of the Tehran bus drivers syndicate board of directors, serving his 6 year term in jail, was suddenly transferred and exiled to Gohardasht Prison on Sunday, June 1st.
Immediately after being exiled Shahabi issued a statement announcing he has gone on hunger strike and demands being returned to ward 350 of Evin Prison in Tehran, reports from inside Iran indicate.
Reza Shahabi has been in prison for more than two years and is suffering from severe neck and spinal cord pains.
