On the 9th and 10th day of the sit-in of Iranians residing in Australia, participants gathered in the capital from across the country and took part in the protest sit-in outside the US Embassy.
During the final two days of this sit-in, the Iranians also staged a protest outside the Iraqi Embassy. Along with declaring their demands, the participants expressed their extreme protest to the killings of Ashraf residents.
Bishop Brian Medway, noble priest and head of the Canberra Churches Council presented an inspiring speech in support of Ashraf residents while holding Ashraf’s flag in hand.
Also, in the tenth and final day of this sit-in, the protesters demands were declared by Mohammad Sadeq-pour, one of the organizing officials of this sit-in:
1- Urgent treatment and medical care for the wounded in Ashraf and their transfer from Iraq to European countries for treatment
2- Full evacuation of the Iraqi Army and IRGC Quds Force from Ashraf who continue to be stationed in parts of the camp
3- An end to the 2-year-long siege on Camp Ashraf and protection to be provided for its residents who were declared by the US as ‘protected persons’ under the Fourth Geneva Convention; a UN team must permanently station inside Ashraf to prevent another attack in the future
4- The Australian government and Foreign Ministry to guarantee for full implementation of the protesters’ demands
