Iran was asked to stop its intervention in Lebanon’s Presidential Election

The Lebanese French daily L’Orient Le Jour wrote as the time gets closer to the presidential elections in Lebanon, the leader of majority in the Lebanese Parliament Sa’d Hariri declared only two expansionist countries Iran and Syria meddle in Lebanon.

In an interview with Radio France International, Sa’d Hariri said: We (the March 14 Movement) are serious in our demand for assigning a candidate ; a candidate who works for Lebanon and not for Syria and Iran. It seems like the head of Hezbollah has said he wants a president for Iran and Syria. The Lebanon’s president must work for Lebanon, and this is our red line which should not be crossed.

Following the speech by head of Hezbollah last Sunday (Nov 11) which undermined the legitimacy of the ruling coalition in Lebanon, Saad Hariri called the Iranian ambassador in Beirut to emphasized that the Lebanese hold Iranian regime responsible for such rhetorics.
