The city of Daria is located near Damascus with an area of over 800 square kilometers. According to human rights activists this city has been the main target of Assad’s air attacks, especially in the past few months, Al Jazeera TV reported.
Assad bombers in just the past five days have dropped over 330 barrel bombs on Daria’s residential areas. These bombings have left at least 150 victims, most of them being women and children. Of course, all of this city’s residents have been victims of the injustice and silence of relevant international organizations.
During the past few months the Assad regime has allocated all its assets for genocide attacks and each day an average of 22 bombing raids are conducted in this area. Human rights activists have called for urgent action by international organizations to fully stop Assad’s massacres and strongly condemn these inhumane measures. Amongst all this the UN and major governments like the US have continued to remain silent, and this is an issue that must be taken into account.Ukraine presidential candidate and pro-West confectionary tycoon Petro Poroshenko, a former economy and foreign minister, came to Kiev’s Independence Square and paid his respects to the martyrs of the country’s protest movement, Euronews reported.
“We are ready for a significant agreement with Russia. We have only one very simple condition and that is for Moscow to end its occupation of Ukraine in order to maintain our national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and as a result Ukraine’s independence. That is why Russian forces must depart from Crimea in order to allow this peninsula remain belonging to Ukraine. If such measures take place we will be prepared to provide significant autonomy to Crimea. We are also ready to provide special status to the Sebastopol port and special tax regulations for all of Crimea,” he said.
While Ukraine Army forces began retreating from the Crimea peninsula, Poroshenko warned of the troops’ families and Crimea’s Tatar residents remaining defenseless. He also emphasized on his commitment to Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
“We will not accept any scenario for federalism in Ukraine. Separating measures will not be accepted and will fight against it. We are struggling for a united Ukraine with a strong and persistent economy, and I believe we will reach good results very soon,” he continued.
Last week the International Monetary Fund said a $14 to $18bn aid package will be provided to Ukraine, including an urgent $3bn dollars to provide for the country’s debts.
