AFP, Cairo, 8 Jan 2012 – Arab ministers meeting in Cairo on Sunday called for an immediate end to violence in Syria, where a brutal crackdown on dissent has left thousands dead.
The Arab League committee on Syria ‘calls on the Syrian government and all armed groups to immediately stop all acts of violence,’ it said in its final statement.
