German Foreign Minister Frank Walter-Steinmeir said Bashar Assad is responsible for all the tragedies and sufferings of the Syrian people, Al Arabiya TV reported on Wednesday, August 19th. He referred to the status of Syria currently being very far from in reaching a political solution.
“A ceasefire is needed until the timing of the negotiations proposed by the UN envoy,” he added.
