Following threats from the Iranian judiciary chief Sadegh Larijani against Ahmadinejad regarding the embezzlement scandal, the mullahs’ Majlis (parliament) speaker Ali Larijani also threatened Ahmadinejad by saying, “The issue of financial corruption has no red line.”
“In the session of the three branches’ leaders we also said that the issue of financial corruption has no red line and anyone having a role in this regard must be prosecuted,” Larijani added.
“The leader made it clear in their general policies for the government to separate its budget from the oil income, yet these orders have yet to be implemented,” Larijani added in another part of his speech accusing Ahmadinejad of refusing to carry out Khamenei’s instructions.
