Based on reports received from Human Rights And Democracy Activists in Iran, a Baluchi political prisoner held in Zahedan Prison (southeastern Iran) has been placed in solitary confinement and under physical and psychological torture for the past 10 days.
Karim Bakhshi Yali-dehi, 45, has been tortured by Gholami, the prison’s intelligence chief, along with others affiliated to him. He was transferred from the public ward to solitary confinement for no given reason.
On the other hand, since his transfer to solitary confinement, family members have not been able to meet or have a phone call with him to be informed of his latest conditions.
Political prisoner Karim Bakhshi Yali-dehi was arrested in April 2010 in the city of Chabahar, southwestern Iran, and continues to be held in limbo despite the passing of 18 months.
Human Rights And Democracy Activists in Iran condemn the transfer of defenseless prisoners to solitary confinement and placing them under physical and psychological torture. It calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and other international organizations to stop torture and executions in Khamenei’s prisons and demand Iran’s dossier of crimes against humanity be referred to the UN Security Council.
