Walid Jumblatt, leader of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party asked for ending that country’s occupation by the Iranian and Syrian regimes.
According to Lebanese French language daily L’Orient Le Jour, after discussion with Fuad Siniora, Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Walid Jumblatt said: Today there is a foreign guardianship in Lebanon. Lebanon should be saved from this Syrian-Iranian guardianship. This is a long way, and electing any president without being committed to independence is meaningless.
