Sowt al-Iraq News Agency reported that one of the leaders of the Sadr faction said that Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani has encouraged leaders of the national coalition to choose one of their figures for the prime ministry post and not set this post aside for Maliki. He said: Sistani wrote an urgent letter to Iranian regime leaders cautioning them of insisting on Maliki’s third term as PM because this issue might lead to the collapse of the Shiite coalition.
