Amnesty International concerned over state of 4 Iranian political prisoners on hunger strike

Four Kurdish political prisoners on death row in Karaj’s Ghezel Hesar Prison, on Wednesday 8 January, marked their 68th day of hunger strike. The day before, January 7th, inmates Hamed Ahmadi and Jamshid Dehghani fainted due to severe weakness. Hamed Ahmadi was returned to his cell, yet Jamshid Dehghani is still in the prison clinic. Hamed Ahmadi is once again suffering from internal stomach bleeding. The blood pressure of these inmates is very low.
Amnesty International expressed concern over the condition of these 4 Kurdish political prisoners. According to the Amnesty International report, these 4 prisoners have fainted and been transferred to the prison clinic several times since 31 December. Amnesty International also pointed out that the prisoners had suffered torture during their sentences.
