Iraqi MP Ismaeel Ghazi condemned the siege imposed on Camp Liberty residents restricting the delivery of food stuffs and medicine, and the death of a number of residents due to lack of medical care.
“Why is such a siege imposed on these unarmed people who are considered refugees?” he asks.
“Due to the fact that Camp Liberty residents are refugees, without a doubt this obligates all parties to practice a humanitarian approach towards them,” he said, adding, “The issue of Liberty residents is a humanitarian matter that is deteriorating in Iraq.”
