With almost %90 of the vote counted, the Greek people have voted “no” to the austerity measures in a historic referendum on economic bailout conditions set by the country’s European Union creditors. So far %62 have voted NO and %38 have voted YES.
Welcoming this vote the Greek Parliament speaker declared the referendum result allows the government to advance more quickly in its talks with its loaners. The Greek government spokesman also emphasized on this matter.
Leaders of Germany and France held an emergency meeting to find a “lasting solution” for the Greece crisis.
