While the clerical regime’s infighting has entered a new phase, according to a report from the Asr-e Iran newspaper, the Velayat-e faqih representative in the IRGC attacked Ahmadinejad and by admitting to the regime’s fundamental turmoil, said: “The problem is that the presidents mistaken their role and position with that of the supreme leader’s. They become theoreticians and implement power, exceeding their authority. This is while the Velayat-e faqih must do the leading.”
“Of course a part of these people’s problems are mental and psychological”, said mullah Saeedi attacking Ahmadinejad, “they think their legitimacy comes from the ballot box, while it is the Velayat-e faqih who validates the people’s votes and appoints the president”. “We too approved Mr. Ahmadinejad so long as he walked in the path and framework of standards and conditions that are acceptable to the establishment”, Saeedi added.
