Sheikh Ahmad al-Ghanem, head of the Southern Tribes Council of Iraq said: “The Iranian regime widely meddles in Iraq’s southern regions. This policy is imposed through political parties that are currently in power. These parties show complete sympathy towards the Iranian regime and are working for Tehran. The current parties in power are paying back for the times they were founded in Iran and their presence in that country. The goal of these party leaders’ trips to Iran is to gain more incentives and provide as much stimulus as possible for the Iranian regime. Dispute and quarrels amongst Iraq’s ruling parties are aimed only to gain more concessions from the Iranian regime. The three individuals that are currently in Iran, (former Prime Minister) Ibrahim Ja’fari, (Vice President) Adel Abdul Mahdi and Ahmad Chalabi represent the disputes between the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq and the State of Law bloc.
