Iraq breaches agreement with UNAMI 0n disabled’s trailers

Iraq prevents the transfer of inspected trailers for disabled and in breach of agreement with UNAMI, enters them and moves around their stuff

From August 8 to 10, the Iraqi forces inspected six accessible trailers in the presence of UN monitors and on Friday August 10  the UNAMI monitors declared Iraqi forces have notified them that the inspection of these trailers have finished and they must be moved to Liberty.

Since the Iraqis have ensured UNAMI that they would barbwire around the trailers so no one could get close to them, UN monitors left Camp Ashraf on August 11. Immediately the Iraqi forces along with Intelligence officers presided by Lt. Haider, in clear violation of their agreement with UNAMI, went with drills and drill bits and other equipment inside the trailers and started to do suspicious work (Photos attached).

These actions continued on August 11 and 12. The Iraqi forces had kept their vehicles in front of the trailers so that their activities could not be seen.

The representatives of the residents urge UNAMI for quick resolution to this issue, and the transfer of these trailers to Liberty as soon as possible.
