In a criminal measure, the mullahs’ regime’s mercenaries assassinated Sheikh Kamel Omran Atiya al-Jabouri, Chairman of Friendship Association of Iraqi People with the Iranian people, who was one of the toughest opponents of the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq in Mansouriya, Diyala.

Sheikh Kamel was one of the most prominent Iraqi patriotic sheikhs. He had repeatedly called the Iranian regime as the Iraqi people’s main enemy and had asked for eviction of that regime from Iraq.
For the past 4.5 years, Sheikh Kamel had a key and active role in revelation of the mullahs’ regime’s meddling and atrocities in Diyala province. That is why he had been the target of anger and brutal spite of parties and groups affiliated with the Iranian regime. He was repeatedly threatened by the regime’s agents, but he never yielded to their threats and never abandoned his efforts to release his homeland from the evil mullahs ruling Iran.

During past four and half years, Sheikh Kamel always supported the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). Following the order of Iraqi Governing Council regarding expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq, he was among the Sheikhs who participated in the sit-in strike in Ashraf City. He always reiterated the PMOI’s role as a balancing weight before the Iranian regime’s meddling. He believed the relations between the Iraqi people and the PMOI are inseparable.

Due to his bravery and diligence in disclosing the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq, sheikh Kamel was elected as the chairman of Friendship Association of Iraqi People with the Iranian People and continued revealing Iranian regimes’ meddling up to the end.
