Syrian regime delaying transfer of chemical weapons

The Assad regime has only handed over half of its chemical weapons stockpile to this organization and is delaying on its international obligations, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons announced.
Mustard gas is among the weaponry transferred to this organization, the OPCW added. Last week two consignments were transferred in the Latakia port to Norwegian and Danish ships to be destroyed in facilities outside of Syria. However, this trend has yet to be completed. The transfer of all Mustard gas as the only chemical agent in Syria that does not need to be mixed with another substance before being used is the most phase of this current stage.
June 30th is the deadline that all of Syria’s weapons must be handed over but the Assad regime has only delivered 50% of these weapons of mass destruction.
The UN Security Council in February had warned the Assad regime to remain loyal to its obligations and speed up the transfer of its chemical weapons abroad.
