Syria fighters have inflicted serious blows to the Assad regime. Orient TV cited the fighters saying more than 30 military bases in Ghouta near Damascus and West Qalamoun have been completely taken over. The main such base is the central command of backup forces of the Assad regime in this area.
The fighters have also killed Staff General General Mohamed Ali Zatar, a senior officer of the regime’s Republican Guard and an Assad regime commander in the town of Assad. He was killed by a rebel sniper in the city of Hrasta and the fighters had prepared for this attack for nearly 18 months.
