AFP, Tunis, 24 Feb 2012 – Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said at an international conference on Syria Friday that he backed the idea of arming the opposition against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Asked at the start of a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton if he supported the idea, he said: ‘I think it’s an excellent idea… because they have to protect themselves.’
