In the hearing session of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee held to assess the situation in Georgia and the U.S. policy, the attendees warned against the threats of Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions to the region and the world.
The session was chaired by Senator Carl Levin the Armed Services Committee Chairman and lasted for two hours and 25 minutes.
State Department Assistant Secretary Daniel Fried, US Under Secretary of Defence for Policy Eric Edelman, and the intelligence director in the U.S. Army Joint Staff Micheal Flynn also participated in the meeting.
Addressing Daniel Fried, Senator John Thune asked: “What is your evaluation on the Russia’s cooperation in dealing with Iran’s nuclear issue? Is Iran’s threat considered a threat to Russia too?
Fried answered: “It’s to the Russia’s benefit to work with us in this regard, because a nuclear Iran is a threat to them too.”
