Bazaar merchants have been on strike for nearly two months.
On Tuesday, September 27th, Tehran’s Bazaar textile sellers chanted “God is Great” in a demonstration against the Iranian regime’s policies of increasing value added taxes. The demonstrators stressed on their demands, vowing to continue their strike until all their requests are met. Many other merchants in the Bazaar joined the textile sellers in this demonstration.
This protest gathering took place while the mullahs’ repressive forces had stationed around the Bazaar area from the previous day, also placing the Bazaar under control from Tuesday morning by preventing others from joining the demonstration.
