Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Abdul-latif al-Ziyani described remarks made by former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki against Saudi Arabia as irresponsible, Al Jazeera TV reported on Friday.
Such lies and despicable remarks will not help relations between Gulf countries and Iraq because they are provocative and unreal, he added.
Maliki’s remarks are part of his efforts to destroy relations between Iraq and its Arab brothers, and separating Iraq from its natural Arab environment, which is in the interest of foreign parties, the GCC chief continued.
