According to Asharqiya TV on September 12, the US forces arrested three commanders of the special groups affiliated with the Quds Force who are also among prominent commanders of Al-Qaeda during a security operation west of Diyala province.
Citing Iraqi security sources, Asharqiya TV, said: By airlifting, the US forces arrested three persons in villages northwest of Baquba. The capture operation was carried out based on security intelligence regarding these persons command the armed groups that stage armed operation against Iraqi and US forces.
Simultaneously it was announced that a woman affiliated to the special groups who had entered into Iraq from Iran carrying fake Iranian documents and a large number of high explosive C4 material, was arrested in Hamrain region close to Sa’diya. The sources said her mission was to distribute weapon and explosive among the Iraqi armed groups.
The Iraqi security forces have also discovered armor piercing bombs and Iran-made missiles as well as a large amount of ammunition in the township of Badra east of Kut in Wassit province.
