Followingthe restless 37 day struggle of PMOI members and their supporters across the world, the political refugees who had been expelled to Gabon returned to France. On December 8, 1978, the French Government, at the behest of Iranian regime, raided 20 residences of the Iranian Resistance supporters and expelled a number of them to Gabon. A global campaign accompanied with a heavy hunger strike by Iranian Resistance supporters was embarked in France, other European countries and the United States for respect to refugee rights.
These activities compelled the French government to retreat and hence on January 13, 1988, the expelled refugees were returned to France victoriously. Once again, the clerical regime and their international collaborators were defeated vis-a-vis the determination of Iranian Resistance supporters.
