The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), in a statement, strongly condemned the Iranian regime’s anti-labor policies during International Labor Day rallies.
This confederation that represents 168 million workers in 155 countries across the world announced: In order to create horror among the workers, the Iranian regime arrested a number of workers union activists and founders in Iran before May Day; then it suppressed the workers’ demonstrations on May Day and arrested some of them including in Assalvieh, Ushnavieh and Sanandaj. In Tehran, a 1000-man State Security Force(SSF) attacked Chitgar Park where the workers had gathered and dispersed them; the workers then had to go to Jahan Nama Park and continued to mark the May Day there.
