According to the VOA, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the US Congress Foreign Relations Committee, presented a draft resolution according to which the nuclear cooperation between the US and the United Arab Emirates would be contingent upon implementation of recent international sanctions against Iran by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ros-Lehtinen said that if UAE fails to abide by the Security Council resolutions in halting the transfer of shipments relating to the Iranian nuclear and military programs, the nuclear cooperation pact with UAE would be blocked.
