Egypt: New Fajr Center for Research and Human Rights Studies Chairman’s message to Liberty Hunger Strikers

INTV, 6 Nov 2013 – Dr. Ashraf Abdul-Khalegh, Chairman of the New Fajr Center for Research and Human Rights Studies in Egypt, while announcing his solidarity and support of the hunger strikers at Liberty, called on international organs to intervene to free the 7 Ashrafi hostages as soon as possible.
Dr. Abdul-Khalegh stated: “Given our knowledge and the research I have done on the rights of Liberty residents, and also the events that have unfolded at Camp Ashraf and the information on the conditions of the residents and the evidence and documents we have in hand, Iraqi forces have taken 7 residents hostage. We strongly condemn the Iraqi forces’ hideous act against the residents. We demand the immediate release of the 7 hostages and call on the international community to investigate this incident as soon as possible. We also call on the UN to provide the residents’ protection based on its international obligations. We urge international and regional forces to intervene and help free the hostages and provide Camp Liberty residents’ protection…”
