Iran judicial chief rejects Ahmadinejad prison visit

Mullah Sadegh Larijani, head of Iran’s judiciary branch, responded to Ahmadinejad’s latest letter rejecting his request to visit to Tehran’ Evin Prison. This further deepens the political crisis threatening the regime’s senior hierarchy.
“Western media are asking what is going on in Iran’s prisons that the president cannot visit it?” Larijani said.
“Considering the recent letters and the latest developments, there will be no permit to visit Evin Prison without prior notice. The president’s recent letter is being used as propaganda by media outlets that are against the system. His words and sentences are being used against the system by Western media,” he added.
