Palestinian movement symbol Hani al-Hassan passes away

Hani al-Hassan, a member of the Fatah Movement and the Palestinian resistance, a high-ranking Palestinian government official and one of the great friends of the Iranian Resistance and People’s Mojahedin of Iran passed away, the Palestine Official News Agency reported.
The Palestinian Government President issued a message of condolences on the death of Hani al-Hassan in Amman, Jordan on Friday morning, July 6th, 2012. President Mahmoud Abbas announced the death of the brother and leader Hani al-Hassan, a prominent figure of the Palestinian national resistance and revolution.
“From the beginning of the Palestinian national liberation movement, Fatah, and during the following decades, Hani al-Hassan had a significant role in various positions as a member of the Fatah movement central committee and Palestinian leadership, and he was responsible of numerous missions,” the Palestinian President said.
“He will always be remembered with his high spirit, steadfast will, significant presence and his special position and never-ending efforts in the Palestinian national resistance for the rights of our people in returning to their home country and establishing an independent Palestinian government with Jerusalem as its capital.”
“Today, we are saying goodbye with a dear brother, a great leader and a special warrior, and we pledge with his pure spirit to continue this trend of resistance – which he was one of the symbols of – until victory is achieved,” Abbas continued.
Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance expressed her condolences to the Palestinian Government President Mahmoud Abbas, the respected family of Hani al-Hassan and all the Palestinian people and resistance.
“His brotherly solidarity and sincere companionship with the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance is unforgettable,” she stressed.
“The Iranian people and especially the members and supporters of the Resistance, will never forget Hani al-Hassan’s numerous meetings with Massoud, either along with Abu Amar in their trip to Tehran, or in the numerous meetings that took place afterwards. The memory of Hani al-Hassan as a brother, a comrade and a great inspirer in the struggle for freedom is always alive for us.”
Maryam Rajavi also wished tolerance and well-being for the fellow comrades and family members of Hani al-Hassan.
