In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, Ahmad al-As’ad, Lebanese Shiite candidate for parliamentary elections from Marjaeiyoun, condemned the Iranian regime’s meddling in Lebanon and emphasized that Iran plans to implement its goals in the region through Lebanon.
Ahmad al-As’ad said: “By paying money to Lebanon’s Hezbullah and unofficial relations with parties, the Iranian regime exerts pressures on our country; the money that Iran imports to Lebanon does not go to the Lebanese treasure, rather it goes to Iran affiliated party and this way it seeks to expand its influence in the region”.
He added: “Hezbollah pursues Iranian regime’s plan in Lebanon; but Lebanese Shiites are after Lebanon’s interests. The arms of Hezbullah are a burden on Lebanese, particularly the Lebanese Shiites.
