
L’Orient Le Jour, a Lebanese daily in French, wrote: Allameh Seyed Mohammad Ali Al-Hosseini, a Shiite figure who does not hide his animosity toward the Iranian regime’s meddling in Arab states’ affairs, in particular Lebanon, accused Iranian regime’s Guards( IRGC) for attempt to assassinate him on Tyr road.
According to the daily, Washington accused this attempt that was aimed at ” quieting Shiite leaders opposed to Tehran’s regime “. Anti-terrorism bureau in the U.S. capital denounced Lebanese security services for not starting investigations under the pretext that it had happened in the Hezbollah- dominated area in northern Lebanon.
U.N. Secretary General sent a letter to Terjé Roed-Larson, in charge of supervising resolution 1559, to ask the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to investigate about this attempt.
