In a press conference held at Press International Club in Brussels on Wednesday entitled ” Mullahs’ Conspiracies to Prevent Rule of Law in EU” with participation of EU representatives , Iranian Resistance representative and a prominent European jurist, the participants announced that by the British Appeal Court verdict, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran(PMOI) has been removed off the terrorist list and the European Union has no reason to keep the PMOI in the list, and the EU Council of Ministers is legally obliged to delist the PMOI from the list immediately.

Jean-Pierre Spitzer, the French prominent lawyer, said in the conference: We have come here today because we’ve got information indicating the EU officials are engaged in a new deal with the Iranian regime and my country, France, is among them too.

The second speaker was Mohammad Mohaddessin, chairman of the National Council of Resistance Foreign Affairs Committee, who said: After releasing the POAC verdict on Nov. 30, 2007, the clerical regime has been trying to employ all diplomatic and economic levers to prevent implementation of the court’s order; these activities have been intensified after the decisive verdict of the British Court of Appeal on May 7, 2007. Being disappointed after the British Court of Appeal’s rule, the Iranian regime has concentrated its efforts on EU to prevent removing the PMOI off the EU list. In this regard, the main target of the Iranian regime has been the French government and Tehran has exerted its maximum pressure on France to prevent implementation of justice in EU. The Iranian regime intends to use economical levers and terrorist threats and hollow promises to compel the European countries to break the law.

Mohaddessin added: Today the British Court of Appeal’s verdict is certain and the PMOI has been removed from UK’s terrorist list; no other country can replace England in EU. I warn France and the Council of Ministers not to let the Iranian regime continue its dirty conspiracies through immediate removal of PMOI from the EU list. Any setback and surrender to clerical regime regarding the law enforcement will leave a dangerous background in EU. This issue must be evaluated in the next EU Council of Ministers’ session without mullahs’ pressures and without being impressed by their pressures, and the PMOI has to be removed off the EU terrorist list for ever.

Mrs. Pianora Kaupi, head of the Finnish delegation in the group of European People Party , said: I declare that from now on I will have no respect for any country , either Britain or France or any other country in EU that wants to commit such lawbreaking; we are persistent that the PMOI must be removed from the list; this is not enough, Europe must start new relations with the PMOI.

Paulo Casaca, Co-Chair of the Friends of a Free Iran in EU, said: Today all Iranian people, the people of region and all the European countries are suffering from the Iranian regime’s policies and the regime is an immediate and serious danger to peace and security of the region and the world; appeasement created war in the past; today it would happen again unless we act; the solution is to change the regime in Iran by the Iranian people, and the PMOI is the most important part of the opposition that is able to implement this change in Iran, therefore, keeping the PMOI in terrorist list is an extraordinary wrong and damaging policy.
