A Political prisoner suffering from epilepsy and psychological disorder, was transferred two weeks ago from Tabriz Prison (northwest Iran) where the weather and the climate is cool to Zahedan Prison (southeast Iran), all the way on the other side of the country with hot and dry climate. Iraj Mohammadi was left without any medical care and didn’t even receive his medicine.
“Currently he is in very poor conditions. He is now suffering from nerve and psychological illnesses due to the harsh circumstances in prison and enduring 8 months of solitary confinement, along with continuous beatings, especially the blows to his head,” an informed source said.
Mohammadi was arrested in March 2010 and sentenced to 10 years behind bars in April 2013. He is 37-years-old and is currently in his 7th year behind bars.
