Iran: 86-year old prisoner goes unconscious, transferred to hospital

Hassan Taffah, an 86-year old prisoner in Gohardasht Prison suffering from blood cancer saw his blood pressure drop severely and went unconscious. He was then transferred to a hospital.
A few days ago the so-called “Khomeini Hospital” refused to accept this patient. Prior to that on numerous occasions this 86-year old prisoner in Gohardasht Prison has suffered very poor conditions due to his blood cancer, severe fatigue and inadequate physical conditions.
It is worth noting that Taffah has been kept behind bars despite the fact that a year has passed after a court ordered his release on the basis that he cannot tolerate prison conditions. This prisoner has also been deprived of being released, dispatched for leave or even sent to a hospital.
Taffah was arrested back in 2008 by security agents from the 15th branch of the regime’s so-called courts in Tehran chaired by a Khamenei-henchman by the name of Salavati. This 86-year old prisoner was accused of propaganda against the system and sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
