Dr. Eiham al-Sameraii, Iraqi Coalition representative in the US and former Iraqi Minister of Electricity during Allawi’s term as premier, issued a press statement warning of the transfer of Ashraf residents to another location.

Excerpts of this statement are as follows:
“We are attempting through all means to protect Ashraf residents and we are in a race against time regarding their protection from the conspiracies of the mullahs ruling Iran. These measures that the Iraqi government is carrying out are among the actions taken by Maliki at the behest of the Iranian regime to eliminate the opponents of this regime.”
Dr. al-Samerraii stressed Ashraf residents represent the wishes of the Iranian people, saying he hopes Camp Ashraf remains under the shadows of a democratic system in Iraq and for this camp to be a symbol for all those struggling around the world.
