Al-Arabia T.V on Friday, Jan. 18, reported that the chief advisor of the Awakening Councils of Iraq, Abu Azaam al-Tamimi said: “we look at the Iranian regime’s intervention in Iraq more dangerous than United States’ occupation.”

He is one of founders of the Islamic Army who said: the Islamic Army was first active against occupation but when the parameter of Iranian regime’s intervention entered Iraq’s scene, the Islamic Army changed its position. The US is not the primary threat, rather today the presence of US forces in Iraq is an obstacle to expansion of Iranian regime’s influential rule in Iraq and this is what many Iraqis say.”

About change of the strategy he said: “when the Iranian regime influential rule became highly extensive, some of our top leaders decided we must go on cease-fire with the US Forces since we see the Iranian regime intervention more dangerous. The Iranian regime is interfering in all affairs of Iraq, and to fulfill its goals, it is working with Al-Qaeda, Shiite and Sunni Militias and its affiliated agents inside Iraqi government.”
