The Iranian regime supports militias in Iraq and provides them with training and military equipment, said Brig. Gen. Robert H. Holmes, deputy director of operations for U.S. Central Command in an interview with al-Hayat daily published in London.

Denying any type of cooperation by the Iranian regime in establishing security and stability, Holmes said: Iran facilitates the flow of equipment and trained individuals to participate in terrorist operations. We have clearly experienced the influence of this foreign factor in Iraq which had been extremely active but hidden.

Brig. Gen. Holmes added: We have already revealed in our reports that some of the people involved in such actions are affiliated to the IRGC. These people have links with networks that foment violence.
