Majid Keshvari, a mentally ill prisoner in Ghezelhesar Prison, located in the city of Karaj, west of the capital Tehran, has undergone severe tortures by prison authorities after a suicide attempt in his prison cell.
Majid who is regarded as a mental patient by prison’s clinic authorities, has been under special treatments regularly. He was severely recently tortured and kept in solitary confinement for few days, deprived from his medicine to be subjected to more sufferings; and signs of physical torture are visible on his body after returning to public cell.
Majid Keshvari had spent two years in Gohardasht prison, before being transferred to Ghezelhesar in June 2013.
