US senators Joseph Lieberman and Jon Kyl presented an amendment to the bill of Department of Defense that if approved it will obligates the United States State Department to put Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) in the list of terrorist organizations.

Senator Joseph Lieberman called the IRGC responsible for all Iranian regimes’ activities in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine and said: Apart from our intentions in Washington, the Iranian regime has decided an indirect war against the United States and we have to respond.

He added: The first objective of this amendment is to send this message to Tehran and US allies in the region that the US won’t be silent in the face of killing its forces by the terrorists supported by the Iranian regime.

Senator Lieberman added: The attacks against the US forces with Iran-made weapons have increased 40 percent this summer. The US Army has recently announced that a group of 60 Iraqis have been trained how to use RPG, mortar launcher, EFPs and guerrilla war at three bases near Tehran.
