UNAMI – Baghdad, 13 April 2012 – The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) is aware of the detention since 12 April, in Baghdad, of two members of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC).
UNAMI continues to follow closely the situation and recalls that due process must apply in accordance with the principles enshrined in the Iraqi Constitution.
